The videos are then screened at an all-campus premiere night event, where the entries are voted on and winning teams are rewarded.Froshlife iMovie Festival: Froshlife iMovie Festival Outcome: Participants benefit from the opportunity to meet and work together in a team-based atmosphere, often establishing lasting friendships that might otherwise not have been created outside of the Froshlife program. Students have hands-on experiences with advanced technology early on in their Duke careers. Technology Used: Digital video cameras Apple laptops iMovie, and Final Cut Pro digital video editing software Issues with Student Life Projects: Issues with Student Life Projects Assumed all students were technologically savvy iPod devices were issued to first year students only- applications around campus had to either be focused on first years or somehow be accessible by all students Copyright/permission to record and post Budget to make higher-quality recordingsObservations about Student Behavior: Observations about Student Behavior Students used iPod most often for personal use such as while working out and while traveling between classes Students found iPod beneficial in avoiding conflicts with roommates over music volume in the room Students were interested in downloading music from bands coming to campus and from President Brodhead.
